This image appeared as the pic of the day at Bikerumor.com yesterday. I'm the guy in the black/white kit just about to t-bone the guy who went sideways in the sand pit. It took place right in front of the announcer stand. The guy in the blue jersey was leading our race (Master's 45+). That was the last time I saw him.

Short and steep. I made it up all but the first lap when there was a pileup in front of me, though a couple of times I pulled out of my worn right pedal at the top.. Ridable if you had momentum, and there was a pretty good straightaway beforehand. The worst part was the frozen ground. Very bumpy and easy to spin out.
