Last Min Sponsorship help
Hi, Looking for some possible last minute sponsorship for the cross season.... here is my bio, goals and results for any one interested.
Bio:
Name: Darren Dowling
Age: 23
DOB: 10/30/1984
I grew up racing in the UK (south of England) racing track, road, MTB and Cyclocross from the age of 6.
Highlights from my time racing in the UK up to the age of 19 would be many regional championships for MTB, Road, Track, Cyclocross and Time Trials from 1994 threw 2000. I also won the U16 BSCA National cyclocross championship along with the sprint and pursuit on the track.
I was a solid all round Junior spending my summers racing in Holland and Belgium on the road, competing in UCI ranked races and world cups in Luxemburg and Belgium. I had the opportunity to race semi-pro with a Dutch team but turned the offer down to go to college back home in England, I continued racing in many big UK races and the U23 national series, finishing 12th in Wales.
Soon after I moved to Florida and had one year off gathering my bearings and trying to find a good scene to race.
I am now a cat 2 cyclocross rider and am the current Florida State Points/Cup Champion.
Goals for 2008/2009 (Cyclocross)
Podium in every Florida Cup race,
Win the overall Florida Series
Podium in State Champs
Compete in some of the Georgia Cup Series
Place well in Nationals (Kansas City)
Get my Cat 1 upgrade for cyclocross
Results (Best of):
National U16 BSCA Cyclocross champion
10th Junior National Championships 2002
National BSCA Sprint Champion 2000
National BSCA Pursuit Champion 2000
3rd overall Florida State Cyclocross series 2005
3rd Miami Cross 2007
1st Tallahassee Cross 2007
3rd & 4th Sarasota Cross 2007
3rd Hobe Sound Cross 2008
3rd Largo Cross 2008
2nd Florida Cross State Championships
1st Overall Florida Cup/Points Series
23rd Cross Vegas (wheelers & dealers) 1st youngest Rider 5th Reailer

You could buy a UCI license and head up to KY for the USGP races. That's probably about an 11 hr drive from the Orlando area. There is some STIFF competition there, but a lot of amateurs still do OK.

check the Sponsor Hub (formerly sponsorhouse) - it's where some people get a little help.

This is a thread hijack, but for ukcrossguy... when you were racing in the UK (I'm from the Midlands originally), which British frames had a good reputation? I have a Raleigh 853 right now, but would like to order a similar British frame
Good luck with the season!
