driveability?

I keep reading about "driving" skills in CX. I hadn't ever seen that term in bike racing before I ran into CX. All the different forms of the term are used. Does it mean "handling skill"? I'm guessing that it was a Rapha import to the US. Maybe from the UK? Or from an English translation of a Belgian word?

Driving is how you get 2 bikes to the race , and have someplace to put the change of clothes in, where there is a Heater, after you run the engine for a While.
