You Know!? For Kids!
I am a long time forum member and past forum moderator. I enjoy working on bikes as much as I like riding bikes. My life right now is pretty full between family, work, faith and volunteering.
I tend to ride quite a bit at night, as I can squeeze in a ride after boys have gone to bed, etc, so having a good light or lights is crucial. I am currently running an MTE SSC P7 torch and 18650 batteries and charger from Deal Extreme. Value for price for what I have is exceptional. Light, batteries and charger have lasted for years. I also have a light almost identical to the one shown above. I cannot link to the light I have, as you no longer carry it. It is similar to this light. My batteries are by trustfire and they still take and hold a charge after years of ownership. The charger has also been very dependable.
I typically mount the P7 18650 lignt on my bars using a two fish lock block and mount the light with the remote battery on my helmet with the battery back in a jersey pocket. I like using two lights as I can adjust the bar mounted light to illumate the road surface and use the helmet light to look into corners, shine it at cars approaching on side streets, etc, with just a movement of my head. This also places the least amount of weight on my helmet, which is a plus on longer rides. And since the battery is in my jersey pocket, I can get on and off the bike and still have light with me.
Both lights have sufficient run time, even on highest power setting, to get in a good ride and if I plan to be out longer, I run them at the lower setting and I carry a spare 18650 battery in my seat bag. I velcro the mount to my helmet for the light, but the headstrap would be nice to have so that one could use the light for hiking, working in dark conditions where both hands are needed, etc.
I would not hesitate to tell anyone to consider Deal Extreme when looking for flashlights, as I have had great luck with my Deal Extreme products.

I got this Trustfire flashlight, 2 rechargeable cells, and this mount from DX last year (had to source charger elsewhere due to backorder).
The light has had mixed reviews, but I took a chance based primarily on the recommendations of a couple of BF members and it was about all I could afford at the time. The mount has worked out better than I anticipated and the light has held up reasonably well, especially as a EDC/general purpose light.
The price on the light appears to have dropped $4.50 since I bought it.

Hi, I thought I would enter the competition, I don't think I could write a review though.
That's a great price, and I'm needing to get a headlight soon.
It says it comes with a "2-flat-pin plug", is this an American plug? So It would plug into product number 117169?

Um, the adapter is shown in the last picture in the OP, and just by looking at the picture of that item on DX... I don't think they are compatible, but the OP is more qualified to answer your question than I am.

Plug
No problem if you don't want to do a review, just an introduction and post is enough
Yes, this is an American adapter and it would fit into the sku:117169
Thanks

Looks cool. I have an earlier cree light that I got somewhere (maybe DX, maybe not, been a few years and I can't remember), that I like a lot.

Man a light like this would allow me to start commuting to work again. Just to dark to do it with those small lights I had so I stopped. Would love to win this thing!

Give it to jsharr....a nicer guy on this forum, you won't find.
ps...that light has red on it, so it's clearly faster than one with blue on it. Those faster photons can mean the difference between seeing that pothole in time, or doing an immitation of a swallow as you gracefully dismount over the handlebars.

Looks like a good option for a cree head lamp. I am not familiar with "SingFire". I have seen "TrustFire" "SureFire", and even "UranusFire."

@jsharr is very poor and needy and $25 could be the difference between his family of small pathetic big-eyed waifs going to bed hungry some night and a trip to the local ice cream parlor.
I am joining this thread in the hope that I can make a difference in his miserable existence in that backward place he calls home.
Myself, I'm just a nice guy with a couple of bikes trying to help out.

Apparently if I mention jsharr he gets $1 and I get a shot at winning a fancy light? Works for me...
If not, this post is a waste of electrons but probably no more so than most of P&R, A&S and Trollheim.

Last time jsharr wanted me to do something like this I got promised free ice cream - all I had to do was go back to Texas to collect. I think he needs the Uranusfire in a nice bright pink....
I've accumulated a number of flashlights and dedicated bicycle lights over the years, and was pleasantly surprised with the singlemode Trustfire 501B, blue Trustfire 18650 rechargeable batteries and the battery charger I got from Deal Extreme last year. The light works better than the 5 mode version I got from Amazon.com (it modeskips and won't work after changing batteries unless I tighten the ring inside the endcap a-stinking-gain), and I'm going to shine it in jsharrs eyes until I get my ice cream if I ever do make it back to Texas.
