'98 or 99 Mega Pro Bianchi?
I'm struggling to find the info on this frameset. I had it shipped over from Switzerland and had the cracked headtube fixed (for the same as the frame cost) because I couldn't afford a pantani101..
I'm convinced that it's one of the first mega pro frames produced after the ti 'megatube' era.
But... I can't find it in any catalogue or literature.
Btw. A search for Bianchi mega Pro Alu gets a photo shoot by VSB

Is this the actual bike? Can you post a close up the decal on the TT near the seat post and any other frame info?

Finding an exact match will likely be difficult given Bianchi's propensity for variation between markets.

Yes, this is the bike (taken yesterday). Ignore the groupset - it's Daytona 9 speed. Nothing is original.

I have this exact looking frame but in steel. I am also trying to learn more about its backstory but have so far found little of substance or consequence.
Complicating things further for me is that the decals denoting frame tube type are missing which deepens the mystery as to its precise specification.
My frame’s serial number - stamped on the left underside of the bottom bracket shell - is WA71200671A.
Researching other threads herein would suggest the first digit is the year (ie 1997) and the second and third are the month (ie Dec) of manufacturer.
Being made in Dec 1997 would suggest mine is a 1998 model year frame. Sadly I cannot find a legible copy of the 1998 Bianchi catalog to confirm.
Note: the experts on this forum haven’t been able to figure out what the WA denotes, but is thought to be a manufacturer's code.
