Here’s mine… as found was a 88 de Rosa with a 7 speed Athena group in kinda rough shape… brake lever bodies were cracked, wheels were non matching with a cheap Chinese machine made wheel on the rear. I had the tubular Roval wheels, so I knew I had to use them. The early brifters came when a Sachs ergo bike popped up at the co-op. Works perfectly with a 7 speed shimano freewheel.

@Flatforkcrown - gave you a like because of the condition of the bike. Very much like most of mine and as jealous as I get when looking at the pristine bikes posted, reality is in the ride and the opportunity to own and use the good ones.

@rumstove - Miche Supertype. Kinda spendy but not compared to used Campagnolo posts!

Finally got the correct saddle at the co-op, and they also had a NIB set of speedplay x2 pedals, so dipping my toes in clipless.

Made it to 84 WHOOPIE
1999 Lemond BA - bought new, rode it today (I am in my lower 80's) 3 x 9 STI, replaced rims, higher stem. Couldn't find the red tint MAVIC rims - but they were not great, anyway. (and those are cycling sandals with SPD).

There's actually one for sale right now but the carbon fork is a no go.

Man that's sharp. I'm always browsing ebay for another one my size and I'll snag one if I see it. I like how the seat tube is flared at the bottom, same as my '92 Paramount. Very little bottom bracket flex.
There's actually one for sale right now but the carbon fork is a no go.

Very happy with the one I've got, tho.

there’s one within 100 miles of me with 10 speed chorus that hasn’t sold in a few months. Decent price, but dent in down tube.

A few years back, I got tired of seeing all the middle-aged doctors, lawyers and accountants showing up at Tour de France time for Sunday rides thru the Ashland area on their Orbeas, Pinarellos, etc. with matching team kits. So, I dug up the complete set of Shimano RSX, found myself a nice Trek 2000T aluminum frame, and built myself the following:

It'd get the occasional scowl from the rider who caught the joke. Had the bike for about five years, sold it two years ago to make room for yet another Rossin.

@sykerocker - Nice touch but they may have been scowling at that tubular under the saddle, or is it?

My 96 Softride Traveler. RSX comps originally. Rebuilt it for The TransAm 2017, but life took me to New Zealand. The upgrades: Phil Wood bb, Omega wheelset 36h/48h, DT Alpine 3 spokes w/a 4x rr, Phil Wood hubs, Deore 36t der, Ultegra frt der, Shimano 12-36 9 sp, Sugino XD600 26-36-46 crankset, Chris King threaded headset, Ultegra calipers, Tektro levers, Ultegra barcons, Blackburn frt/Delta Mega rr, Otlieb Rollers w/hb bag, Topeak Road Morph/Mini Morph backup, Selle LD saddle, 28mm SMPs, Zefal fenders, generic drybag w/Northface mummy bag, Topeak waterproof mini tent. Broke my heart to sell it. Believe me. Took 2 years to amass all the comps. It went to a good home, though.

This is my 93 Avanti Kona w/a 105 set, 53/42x12-25 8 sp.

Cannondale 2.8 R800 lightweight variant
Bought this six months or so ago as a replacement for another 2.8 that had been stolen. This was pretty original: 650 sun wheels, aluminum look pedals, 8 speed 105 groupset. Weight with pedals was 18.5 pounds. I just love these old bikes.
