Campagnolo shifter/brake lever repair

This is a integrated shifter and brake lever, on a Bianchi I got a few weeks ago. It is the right shifter for 8 speed.
It doesn't shift properly, it changes till the fourth cog, but on the rest bigger ones, it moves the chain and than it slips back to the 4th.
How should I fix that?

BTW there is a new subforum specifically for brifter stuff. Have you given it a good clean-out and re-greasing? The mechanism can get gunked up over time and hinder shifting.

The detent springs in Campagnolo Ergolevers usually need replacing at every 15k miles or so of typical riding. These are inexpensive.
First they yield and weaken, then they break. There are two in each lever. There are springs for left levers and mirror-image ones for right levers.

The left-side shifter's springs last about 3x that time as right side springs do.

There are youtube videos showing full Ergolever rebuild.

I had an issue with the same brifter, 8 speed Campy. The LEFT one would not " return" to the small chainring.

I did not want to do the work myself being that I do/didn't know how to fix and what was correct.

I ended up sending it to Branford Bike in Seattle.

Pat was the one I spoke to before I sent it out.

He is the person who repaired it. VERY NICE guy. And VERY knowledgeable !!

I had it back in about 8 days.

Works Prefect !!!!!

VERY reasonable , and Pat is an expert with Campagnolo !!! Especially 8 speed Brifters !!!!

Yes, I cleaned and regreased it,
but now I will take it off the bars and, as @dddd said, to replace the detent springers.
I will mess with it a little.

Thanks for your reply. I will do as you said.
YouTube is helping a lot. I just rebuilt a Shimano Stx integrated shifter. It works good.
