Mississaug to Aliston Rout? Yea I know how it sounds
Ok my Second post and I'm sure I sound crazy to be asking this. But, my personal goal by next summer is to ride from Mississauga to Aliston ontario and then Aliston to Misssissauga first I'll try riding the 80+km back and then later on do a Aliston and back trip I know this sounds crazy but I've done 65km all around Toronto and Mississauga just before the season ended so i'm hopefull I can work my way up to it. All I need to know is how to get to Albion road then i can take that strait up to hyway 89and ride 89 to Aliston and then Turn around and ride back. Appart from a hell of alot of time what would be the best place to plan the rout out?
Thanks,
Pete
Thanks,
Pete

Cycling to Alliston. To make it more interesting make a circle route. Take the Gore Road north to Hwy 9, continue on County 14 north and east to Colgan. Left on the paved Colgan Road into Alliston. Hwy 50/Albion Road is extremely busy from Toronto to Bolton and you may wish to consider a different route.

Actually I was thinking of Hyw27 and heading up that way to 89 its smoother and once you get past Major Mack its not that bad.

Take a look at Bikely, there are lots of routes from Terra Cotta or Meadowale to Tottenham. it's not far from there to Alliston.

Depending on your bike setup you can travel the relaxing trans-canada trail for an easy short-cut(southwest to northeast) instead of traveling in a grid. Check it out, just go north on ching or mclaughin rd till you hook up with the trail(near inglewood), then travel north-east.. it's most crushed limestone but if you have a cyclocross or touring bike with 35 or 40c tires you'll be ok... (in the summer obviously)

Be super-careful on those roads dude, esp at the back-country 4-way and 2-way stops... people don't stop they look for a car(not a cyclist) and if they don't see one just blow right through em.

I will be my fleetwing is an old raod bike by todays standards it can keep up on the street but I'm hoping to have a S1 but mid summer. IF not I'm not sure what you mean by the tires if your refering to slicks (car guy so the language filters over) then I don't have those but I know where I can get a good deal on em
