Now I have to bite my tongue. Thankfully Accell Group (IZip, Raleigh, Haibike) contacted me. They want me to be happy with my bike and have offered to help me trade in the Express for a reliable/new bike. I have to thank them for this option. They do care about the customer and want the customer to be happy.

Nice of them

Good that they admitted that they sold you a piece of crap. They allow dealers to put anywhere from 30 to 38% markup on their e-bikes, so they should at least give you 1/3rd the cost of a new one back to you. If they give you a credit of more than half, that's even better. Just make sure they don't try to get you into one of their $3500 or $4000 priced ebikes, because those are all way overpriced for the value from that company. A really nice e-bike for the money, is the Blix Stockholm. You can reset the top speed limiter to get up to 25 mph, and the mid 2016 model now comes with front suspension. The bike is lightweight, and for the money in the low $2's you won't find a better, more refined e-bike. Also has the option of up to a 17.4 ah Panasonic battery. I've gone 78 miles on that puppy, and still had juice left. The ebike is 'stealth' too, and does not look like one, unless you know the black thing behind the seat pillar is for a battery for an ebike.

Actually, the Haibikes have a higher mark up, as I've seen Crazy Lenny sell two for the price of 1. So if they try to get you into a $4000 haibike, 50% is markup to get down to their sell price to a dealer. So if you've already paid $1500, and they say you'll only have to pay another $2000, you'd actually be buying a haibike at a price of $3500, and if it was thru a dealer, then that dealer still made money on your woes. Maybe just get whatever the least additional out of pocket is that you can get, then turn around and sell it as near new on Craigs list for some profit, and go with another brand. You're gonna have issues with any Izip, and Raleigh, as they both have fairly high failure rates for their products. Personally I don't see how any reputable dealer would consider carrying those 3 makes. Haibike might be ok, but again its VERY high priced for what you actually get.

I am 100% pleased with the my 16 Haibike, its handling and range from the battery is excellent. The Yamaha motor is refined, quiet and butter smooth. Can anyone provide raw numbers with a link to how lousy Haibikes and Izips in general are with early fail rates.. I did not know Accell group ran Haibikes.

Accell Group acts as a sales force for Haibike AFAIK. IMO Haibike are the most refined e-MTB's, but that is arguable.
Haven't heard anything bad about the performance aspects of either Bosch or Yamaha Haibikes.
