E-bike show

I only found out about this yesterday. Surprised there was no mention here of the event in Tempe, AZ. Next one is San Diego, CA.

San Diego, California - Electric Bike Expo

Posted it in the Haibike thread, but this is much more visible. I attended the Las Vegas Interbike show and really enjoyed it. You've got to ride these things before buying if at all possible...

I always attend these demo events I just love to ride any kind of bike. I remember the motorcycle demos and how fun it was to ride bikes that were 10k $$ and up. And it wasn't that many people even in summer! But thats all the better for me I guess.
Looking foward to the Oregon one!

Looking forward to the next one in SD. Only consideration (not a complaint in any way) is that the Haibike XDURO, that I've been riding for the last week, wasn't impressive in the initial "parking lot" demo, but is stunning off road (and on now that I'm used to it).

My wife and I attended the one in Tempe a few weeks ago. The test track was the same one they had at Interbike but laid out a bit differently. Lots of vendors with lots of electric bikes to try. Great fun and highly recommended.

I just happened to be visiting my son in Phoenix from Ohio when I caught wind of this, don't remember where. We went down to Tempe and tried a few. After 2 or 3 I was done (health issues ) but my son who is not much interested in bikes rode for a couple of hours and had a blast. I'm just trying to justify $1500-$3500 for a bike. Maybe if my wife and I go to only one car . . .

You dont have to. I bought two of the Sondors fat tire bikes and they just started an indiegogo campaign for a regular one- $499 plus shipping. (last time that was about $200) Check it out. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/s...lectric-bike#/

You're right of course. It's just putting up with swmbo for a year or so.

Seriously, it can be easily justified IF you can eliminate a car.

Will be fun. They had so many bikes in San Diego that there was no waiting and you could ride each one as long as you wanted.

You didnt say HI 2old! The test track wasnt too crowded and there were lots of bikes to try and I did my best to ride almost all of them.

I was worth the travel money to go.

Seattle Bike Show this weekend (March 5-6) at the CenturyLink field event center. Last year there were a lot of electric bikes. I expect there will be even more this year.

More electric bikes than last year. It seems that nearly every bike vendor had at least one electric model. I can't say that I was anymore impressed with this year's bikes than those that were there last year. A lot of the same stuff, just more people getting involved. It was nice to see the new Shimano STEPS mid-drive on several bikes. I have yet to ride a STEPS bike. What I'd really like to see in the near future is a huge jump in battery technology... more range and fast charge (and hey, if the weight can be reduced... that's a huge bonus.)

ITR, we may need to wait until Tesla has their plant up and running; wouldn't be surprised to see their partner, Panasonic, introduce something. Hopefully before that though.
