Diamondback Electric Bike owners

Did a quick search and didn't see any thing at all.
Is anyone else here on a Diamondback electric bike?
If so, anything to be aware of?

I'm on a Diamondback Trace EXC

500 watt motor
48volt battery
gearless design

it's around 48 lbs
disc brakes front and rear
it has cruise control
4 assist modes
throttle mode
lo front fork
min range 25 miles
max range 45 miles
1x9 speed shimano deore m592

Ended up getting what I think is a great price, around $1680 US.

This is my first electric bike.
Battery is charging!

considering a second charger to keep at my office.

Cheers

thx! rode it for the first time today, and I'm so in love with this technology!

odd you posted that review!

I was looking for rear rack solution based on that review.
https://electricbikereview.com/diamondback/trace-exc/
and especially the VIDEO (towards the bottom). nice lengthy review.
however, he shows a bike without the threaded upper holes for a rear rack.
and speaks of his disappointment that they were left off.
it did show the bottom holes.

you can't believe everything you see on the www.
he must have been a demo.
b/c my bike came in yesterday, and it has the holes on it! they are rated for 50lbs.

already have my rack installed, and all is well.

Great!!! I'm guessing that you might have an updated model, based off of Court's review. The bike companies sometimes check to see what he has to say. I'm just glad to see you've gotten such a sweet bike for a steal of a price.

Thank You

I guess Diamondbacks are not very popular in the E market.

Enjoy the ride, BUT take precautions so nobody else gets to enjoy it without your permission. (ie get a GOOD lock!) I also think quick releases on e-bike wheels are not a good idea.

I think ebikes in aren't popular, in the USA, in general. I hope this changes soon.

How do you like your Diamondback EXC?

Have you tried climbing any steep hills, either on the street or mountain bike trails?

What other ebikes did you look at before saying yes to the EXC?

Thanks

The bike has exceeded my expectations. Especially the battery.

I've gone up steep hills with my daughter and groceries in a bike trailer and a basket filled with gear. No problem.

I didn't look at anything else, to be honest. I knew this was a very good price for respectable bike.

Love the bike. Good luck.

They only have a large at that lower price, or my brother would get it.

I tried to get another one during this sale, but it won't let me use the 20% promo that expires at the end of today.
promo reads, no bikes!

Diamondback Trace EXC is same as the Izip Dash 2015 model.
Both are sourced from the same factory and have very similar specs.
Weak points are mechanical disc brakes for a high-speed pedelec, weight and availability.

Diamondback out of Ebike via an email

Hi Al,

If you are talking about our E-Bikes, we have actually discontinued our Ebike program. The ebikes we had were all external shifting though.

I'd contact a local dealer who sells them (REI does or at least the one by me does) or you can go here:

I believe the 2015 model is the 28 mph version and they went to the 20 mph version in 2016.
