First e-bike; and a rack question
Hey all!
I've been on the Forums for about five years now, but I've spent most of my time with Clydesdales&Athenas, and at Touring. I expect to be posting in Electric Bikes from time to time, though, now that I have my own ebike. This week I got a lovely Breezer EX with a mid-drive motor and a rack-mounted rear battery. I was able to put a mount for my Ortlieb handlebar bag on the new bike without any problem -- but rear bags are something of an issue. There's not enough clearance between the rack itself and the battery for the clips that would normally hold my panniers on. Any suggestions on what sort of backs might play well? |
Congrats on a nice bike. What happens if you pull the battery out? Can the straps go under it and then yiu replace the battery?

You can get "double=decker" racks where the battery slides in, similar to attached:
or I have one where there is a second bar that runs a little outside the rack and a bit lower to accommodate clipping on panniers. |

Yea, a double decker would probably do the job... here is my bike with battery, and the wife's bike without battery, and both racks work on her ortlieb panniers...
