The two best vendors (for DIY ebike builders)

My favorite vendors for the DIY "build it yourself" type of person are:

EM3ev
and
Luna Cycle LLC

Part of this is because they are DIY people like me who got their start on endless-sphere before they opened their store. They are tinkerers, and understand exactly what builders like us need.

I have chatted with these guys, and got good technical advice from these guys, both with and without purchases. They enjoy what they do and are passionate about it.

And, I found these article that gave the backstory of these two businesses. If you need parts, motors, batteries, I recommend these two stores. If you want an in depth reason why they have a passion about what they do, read these interesting interviews:

C58 +1; seems like Justin at ebikesca is a good supplier too from my experiences with him.

Good point. Justin is the best of the best - EM3ev and lunacycle wouldn't look the same without Justin's support of the whole DIY ebike movement!

Great selection,
worst customer service.

Since you can't afford the shipping for returns, you better be 100% sure you know what they are selling, and that it is exactly what you want. If you can do that, they have quality products. greenbikekit and elifebike are similar. But with these three - you get little to no customer service or support (bmsbattery is the worst). That is what makes luna cycles and EM3ev.com special - they have both good prices and customer service (and a passion for what they are doing).

Great prices and pretty fast shipping considering they are in china, also helps that I live in California. Just make sure you know exactly what to order.

I would have gone with them with my present build but they don't carry the BBSHD kit.
