Cyclamatic Pro Power Plus CX3 bike problem
 
I'm having a problem getting information on Cyclamatic bikes. Specifically, I'd like to know where to get replacement parts, etc. I recently had the problem of my ebike not activating. When I disconnected it and reconnected it directly to the Hailong battery output, it started right up and I can use it again, but without the speedomotor function. Seems the Cyclamatic bike has a chip in the assembly guiding the brake lever lines that makes this function work. How do I get a replacement for this part, or is there another way for me to get the speedometer function working. For that matter, how does a speedo work on an ebike? I noted that the cable connecting the LCD display to that part has 6 pins, but the one I have the LCD connected to now (directly to the battery) has 5 pins.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If the bike otherwise runs well, you can use a regular bike speedometer. It's $7.99 and far more accurate.

The above is what I use on inexpensive bike conversions which don't have speedometers and I am doing that right now on a ebike where the speed sensor got corroded by road salt.

Speedometers all work the same. They count how many times the wheel rotates in a given time, then they apply the conversion for the size of the wheel and calculate a speed. Sometimes, a separate wheel sensor is used. Other times, the same sensors that position the motor are used.

I eventually found a much better solution. My real complaint seems to be that unless an ebike costs over $2K, American bikers seem to be ignored completely. So, I'm on my own.

After substantial troubleshooting, I determined the problem with the bike was in the small unit (a triangular aluminum assembly) that linked the brake cables and the display cable together. I believe water had gotten into the unit because when I pried it open, I spied a circuit board inside--about 1-1/2" long by 1/2" wide. Using an angle grinder and pliers, I cut the unit apart and removed the circuit board. Sure enough, there was a spot on it that looked shorted, but there was also an email address in tiny print. The email address lead me to Jim of Clouddrive.tech, which I found was a company in Shanghai where Jim, the designer of the circuit board, worked. The problem was, however, that the company only deals with the EU--nothing in the US. Jim assigned the problem to Amy who said they'd send me a new unit, called a Multibox, which performs the speedo/odo function. I'm waiting for it now, and will repost after I get it.

If anyone is interested in the electronic parts to the Cyclamatic ebike, you might want to log in to clouddrive.tech and scope 'em out. Not sure, but I think Cyclamatic bikes needs a forum since they seem to be selling a lot of them in the US.
