My Organic Transit ELF

I am now the custodian of an Organic Transit ELF.

It was gifted to my bike shopís owner who passed it on to me. I know little about it ó itís well used but running okay.

Itís going to be mainly for fun and smiles down at the beach and boardwalk ó and the occasional shopping run down the hill.

Are there any other BF members out there with experience with these? Next goal is a new battery pack I think, and Iím not sure where to start looking into that.

While the vehicle is kinda fun its an absolute nightmare when you need any parts!

I have service certificate #1 for being qualified to work on these, but OT wont give me the time of day to get some replacement parts to repair a damaged one I have been working on.

You can use almost any battery. They just attach with a BIG anderson connector. Nothing special or proprietary there.

Enjoy the ride.

Yes this is why I consider myself the caretaker more than the owner.

Yeow, the price of those went up.

Small e-vehicles need mass marketing to bring prices down. Which means they need purpose built front ends and gearing and such. But without that customer base, companies like Shimano don't have much motivation to scale down the running gear of a FWD car to suit a small e-vehicle.

There is a lot of potential there for these to be cheap year round commuters. But it looks like it will need government support to get things going.
