Converting a pedal bike to an e-bike: a case study

I wrote a blog post for a Washington DC e-bike group about my experience converting a pedal bike with a Bafang BBS01 motor

Nice write up. I'm intrigued by TSDZ2 and the built in PAS sensor (and light weight). In all the builds I have done, I'm liking 40mm tires for road work (and bigger for rougher stuff). I started out on 28mm tires, and that was way too small to ride at speed around here.

Note: I started riding a bicycle for transportation at age 11, delivering newspapers. Currently I commute to work on a Specialized single speed roadbike converted to an e-bike. (its about 8 years old now - I fear the days of being the only person in town with an ebike are starting to disappear. Still, its been fun sneaking up on cars (and bikes) on what looks like a run of the mill road bike, but is a bit faster than standard). Sounds like we have something in common. ;-)
