Considering my stock VW GTI produces a peak torque of about 350 Nm, 300 seems like a stretch. What am I missing?

They better include a V.I,N, so it can be licensed as a moped in states which won't recognize it as an electric assist bicycle, I am sure the bike maker will make sad faces, but it's better for their customers. For something that will be as expensive as this, a VIN will make it easier to get good insurance.
