It's a sad situation.
I like to think that these battery fire incidents don't occur frequently, but since majority of the whole users live in crowded quarters, the chances of residential fire is real.
Now there are proposals.of banning ebikes, e-scooters in the high-rise buildings which likely to force.these delivery workers to store their child's outdoors; more risks of theft.
Seems to me there ought to be better solutions than flat out banning ebike storage.

It's not just going to impact delivery drivers
Insurers and Fire Marshalls are making insurance.coverage an issue ,
which will result in more banning from buildings an dgarages, which will not be able to have them covered.
My agent considers ebikes RV's, requiring special coverage.
Those not in an approved class are frequently not covered by readily accessible policies.
