RadMission $499
Seems like another unbelievable deal. The subject bike, 48V, 500w, SS with disc brakes in mid and high frame reduced from $1199 to $499. It has a 48V, 10.5ah battery. I was almost going to spend as much for a battery that size.

PS: The wonderful woman I spoke with helped me get the upgraded LCD display for $26.88. You really can't beat this price for a single speed 48v ebike from Rad!!!

I'm going to call them. If there is some way I can adapt the battery to use it with an XT-90 or similar connector, I'll join you.

Even though they state their bigger battery isn't compatible, there's a few people out there who've tested it out, and it's 100% compatible.

I had one, they're great bikes, good range and reliable. With that display you may get it to do 23 MPH. They must be going to close them out.

The Radmission is sold out, and they're not restocking this model again (V2.0 on the way?),...

The bike, rack, fenders, and kickstand all for $646. You can't beat this closeout deal. The V2 will be great, but not clearance priced great!!! 👍

I just grabbed two Radrover 6's for $1250 each with the sale and military discount. They can replace my 90's Giant Iguanas hanging in the garage for the last 10 years.

the radrover deal is tempting, but I saw one on one of the local trails and that thing is a monster. Plus, I would have to get over the cheap suspension fork.
OTOH, the guy riding it was really enthusiastic about it and you can't beat the price.
It uses 26x4" tires, does anyone know if that's the regular fatbike size? It would be nice to be able to use my studded fatbike tires on it. They are nominally the same size
I take it these don't come with the updated display?

Yeah it's a lot of bike for the money and I'm thinking of using them for gravel and or combo off and on road routes. Already have the tandem and a Chameleon for long road rides and a bunch of folders for shorter missions,. I was thinking of upgrading our old Giants to assist but for the costs involved I'm better off going new. I still have an extra swytch kit and may have it swapped into a 26 inch rim build to add assist to our cruiser tandem down south. I think I may have a bike buying disease lol. We have 14 between the two houses and now these beasts incoming.
These have the dual display and since my Giants don't have shocks I consider this an upgrade.

Always happy to help a fellow New Yorker (I even went to school at Stony Brook). I couldn't imagine why they dropped the price so much, and wondered if it was to generate some quick cash in order to fight the potentially ruinous lawsuit.

It's possible it's for the lawsuits. I'm hoping a V2 comes out, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Built up the bike. I swapped the handlebars, grips, and got the upgraded display (which I think I wasted my money on), put on the rack and fenders (which required the rear wheel to be removed, which was easy peasy), and also put a Cloud9 seat on it. I'll test it out either tomorrow or Sun, provided it doesn't rain. I will say, I have 2 complaints straight off the bat.
#1 - the dinky little headlight is sheer GARBAGE! I thought the light on my Fiido L3 was bad. NOPE!!! This is like a $1 incandescent flashlight beam,...and it's an LED. Out comes the mega 1200 lumen bike light!
#2 - the chain tensioner is crap. Hopefully I can swap it out for something more well made. It kinda makes me nervous, and it's a single speed bike. That's unsettling.
Overall it's a solid bike with a few flaws. For it's original price I'd have been PISSED OFF. For $499? Meh,...I'll do some upgrades and enjoy it.

tds, I use a Lezyne rechargeable bike light for night rides, and Surly Singlators for SS (but they thread into the rear derailleur hanger, and the Rad doesn't have one). You'll need to locate a tensioner that mounts on the chainstay (or elsewhere). There are some that appear to mount on the chainstay on ebay.

I'll just use my nuclear battery pack bike light and be done with it. The chain tensioner must go though,...
1/23/2022 - I did a quick 1 mile test ride, and the bike handles well, and is quite comfortable. 2 things I did notice. The upgraded display is a waste, definitely. I tells you your speed (off by about 1.5mph), and allows you to see a 5 bar battery graph (meh,...). Otherwise, there's no real improvement in functionality. The second thing is the bike is geared a bit high, but I knew that before I purchased it. I'll most likely put a larger cog on the rear wheel eventually. If not, it's a mudda to start the bike off, unless you hit the throttle, OR are on completely flat ground. Simple fix,... I most likely have the freewheel in my bike stuff.

It comes with a 50t chainring, and a 16t cog, so I'll probably go with an 18t. I don't want to gear it so low that I'll be ghost pedaling. Well, ghost pedaling too much. When I hit top speed (about 19mph) the cadence is spot on. The issue is starting her off. It's a knee killer, and my knees don't like it. LoL!

I'd prefer to not be required to use the throttle to start off.
