Disconnecting Speed control wire.
I was wanting a little more speed from my bike about 30 to 32 kph was my old bike, my new bike is bigger with 350w power, but slower than my old 250w one, was wanting a bit more speed from it, and how to modifying ebikes, was happy with the speed of my old one, new one no so much.
I have read the speed control wire is an easy way to get higher speeds, are their any drawbacks to the bike, I should know about, before I try to do it.
Thanks for any help.

They were all different bikes, claiming the same thing, I thought it was a thing, I guess it's not and it's harder, will try it out though, can't hurt anything, just wont work maybe till I plug it back in :

My DIY ebikes have that circuit but I've never used it. There's too many wires on these controllers anyway, so when I install one, I remove the speed limiter connector, pull the wires inside the metal box, and tape them up. No need for it.
As to your question about harmful side effects? The speed limiter was probably installed so the bike meets the 25 km,/hour (15.5mph) speed limit in Europe. Take it off, and it meets the 20 mph speed limit in the USA, Should be safe to remove it.
