Trek Powerfly FS7 derailleur cable

First post so be gentle with me....

I'm trying to fit a new derailleur cable to my 2020 Powerfly FS7. Can't work out how to free the old cable, then run the new one through the motor area.

Surely I don't have to remove the motor?

Can anyone help please.

Did you try YouTube? The derailleur system should be separate from the motor, but if the wires are hidden in the frame may appear to be "connected". You should be able to disconnect the cable from the derailleur and pull it through the housing, then replace it (note: I don't have a Trek and am basing this on my Haibike).

Not found anything directly useful on YouTube. Pulling the cable through is definitely the issue. it is too tight in the motor area to pull it through

Then, it seems like there's a snag that's somehow impeding it. I have had very good luck using Trek CS for other issues. I'm sure they would try to assist you.

did you cut the bent end of the wire off? the wire its self has to slide through or it would not shift. but that bend may be too much. or are you talking housing?

I am trying to remove the outer sleeve so I can then slide in a new one around the old cable. I will then replace the cable itself
