Shifter and throttle placement

Can a twist shifter and twist throttle both be mounted on the same side of an ebike handlebar?

I'd imagine it would be ideal, since you don't want to use throttle & shift at the same time, especially on mid-drive ebikes.
As long as you have enough room on the handlebar to fit brake, shifter, throttle on one side; that would be ideal.
Very much depend on how big of a brake reservoir (for hydraulic brake), cables & hoses routing to clear among themselves in the tight space.
