-drive motor, four piston brakes, Shimano Deore drivetrain at around $2K and the Dahon is an e-folder that weighs only 26 pounds for slightly more than $1K. As an aside I think Dahon manufactures quality bikes attested to by my 1984 folder.

WHY THE SHOUTING...I mean yes the TrailRush looks like a neat bike for the price but no need to shout. It looks like they actually did some thinking on this bike and put something out that is capable and decently spec'd for the price. You don't really get much in terms of warranty but assuming you can find a shop willing to work with you and Brose it could be a pretty solid machine. Though the lack of sizing for smaller or taller riders is sad but not uncommon with lower cost stuff. Luckily if I were to ever get one I am good on sizing but know plenty of smaller riders especially who have trouble finding bikes.

I kinda like Dahon's approach to put the batteries in the seat post. That way, when we park and want to make the bike less attractive to thieves, we just pop the seat out and take it with us. Voila: no seat, no batteries.

No need to compromise the main tube to give it detachable batteries; just use the same QR seat clamp to remove it.

Now, they just have to knock it off with the QR skewers... ;)

I guess the only problem is that then we're pretty much OBLIGATED to bring the seat/batteries with us each time, as it's quite risky to leave it.

A side bonus is the larger diameter seatpost can be stronger without being super thick.

I have a Dahon folding peddle bike and find it very comfortable and rigid.
