Battery safety

I recently saw a safety alert for UPP004 battery being a fire hazard. I wonder if it is only during charging, or if they burst into flames when sitting idle. I've enjoyed using this battery for 5 years and would like to continue, charging outdoors well away from buildings.

Thoughts and recommendations for a comparable UL approved battery are welcome.

Sad to say, but you are almost two years behind the CPSC:

CPSC Notice

The problem is that the battery is so dangerous that you can't take it anywhere either!

I think the problem is due to random cells going rogue and turning into heaters. Could be a fault in the original construction or damage during use. This seems to happen more often with low quality cells, but even quality makers like LG can screw up, as was determined with the Chevy Bolt fires. It was a production lot of poorly made cells. Then you have Rad, which always advertises they use the better cells and they were seeing several fires out of a half million batteries,

If it were me, I'd scrap the battery given the warning. What's 400 bucks vs a house burning down,
