What makes a good hill climber?
I've been looking around for an electric bike (or moped-like-thing) that will do a good job of climbing hills, and gotten pretty confused by the process.
For example, the ego scooter with a 1.5 kW motor is said to burn out on hills, while the charly scooter (0.75 kW) is said to do well. Obviously, something other than just power is required for hill climbing ability.
I'm starting to strongly consider building my own bike, either from scratch or starting with one of the big box retailers' $300/450W electric bikes. If I am to do so, I need to know what makes for a good hill climber.
