That scooter that obes99 put is really lame. It is a knock-off of a real scooter styling, yet has a fraction of the output. Motorists will perceive it to be a scooter/vespa, but it will top out at 32km/h, which by electric bike terms is really quite slow. It looks like it could go faster, but it can't, and furthermore, in many states, and in all provinces in Canada, it is ILLEGAL. For one, it does not have functioning pedals, and is not meant to be primarily pedal driven. Not only that, cops pull these riders over all the time. No fake.
Crystalyte is a good option since you can up the power quite nicely. 48V gives a great speed, up it some more to 60V or 72V and it becomes really fun. Check out some of the things the boys over at endlesssphere have done. Plus, the cost is way cheaper, and it is super whisper quiet, and very stealthy. (Not many will be able to spot it as being electric). |
Options for styleing, all from uses with Crystalyte with, Crystalyte offerings of upgrade, and customisabeility options, for battery pack voltage 48V, 72V, battery chemistry, power and high speed offerings, good for choice

Those electric scooters are not ebikes, they are electric scooters. The pedals cannot propel the electric scooter, hence they are illegal, unless registered as mopeds. mto: "It can also be driven like a bicycle without any power assist. Is designed to be propelled primarily by muscular power and to travel on not more than three wheels" |
I have an EcoBike, which has a throttle, pedal assist, and a power cutoff switch. The bike came complete with everything accept a lock and helmet. Their website is www.ecobike-usa.com
I highly recommend this bike, I just wish it came in more colors. |
