Battery Mounting? Temperature?
We need a real LiFePO4 expert in this forum.
I recently got a brainstorm idea to use some 4x6" PVC rectangular piping with end caps to contain and seal a LiFePO4 battery. Just wrap the battary pack in latex foam rubber, like I do with my RC model plane batteries, for vibration. I could easily slide it into the pipe, which would then have a hole drilled and a grommet used for the power cable. The ends would then be sealed with solid caps and PVC cement. Totally waterproof. I could even drill a couple of very small drain holes on the bottom to allow moisture to drip out, if by some chance water got in there. Would this be a safety problem? Would overheating or lack of air circulation be a problem? |
^^^ If you are not using any kind of foam rubber insulation, how do you protect against vibration and physical damage to the battery pack when it's hard mounted to the rack?
