Help getting a LiFePO4 battery
So I'm looking at the Amped Bike(https://ampedbikes.com/) ebike kit
I want to get a LiFePO4 Battery for my eBike, but I am unsure the rating I need. I was looking at pingbattery.com but am unsure 24V, 36, or 48V and also within those 10AH - 30Ah (no idea what these mean). Sorry if this is a repetitive question, I have done some searching online and am still confused.
Also if anyone could help with the BEST place to purchase one of these. I had traded some emails with the owner of Amped Bikes and he had told me that I need to be careful because he has run into many of these LiFePO4 batteries which have died after a short time of use and he blamed just new technology not developed enough.
Thank you.

Go for a 36V, 15 ah or 20 ah.
I prefer a 48V, 15ah or 20 ah, but it would void the ampedbikes warranty to go above 36V. it will make the bike have a 25% higher top speed though.
The whole deal is with the c rating of the battery. If it is rated at 1C, well that means that a 36V 10ah battery is designed to provide its power at 10 amps. The ampedbikes kit's controller peaks at 22 amps. So ideally, go for a 36 or 48V 22ah battery so as not to stress it. They don't make 22ah batteries. 15 ah or 20 ah is close enough imho.

^^^ what 15rms said times 2.
ping has been very reliable. I bought my 36V 20AH from another supplier and while I've had zero trouble so far, the 1 year warranty vanished as quickly as the supplier.
If I were to replace my battery, I'd use ping.

I just ordered an Ampedbikes kit and battery directly from their site. The warranty (90 days) is only for 36v batteries, so I figured I'd go ahead with their 36v10ah Phylion battery. When that is retired, I'll go for a newer battery, hoping for a greatly improved technology at that point (2 years?). I'll probably go up to 48v20ah. He says the controller can handle the 48v but due to laws, etc, he only covers 36v because that should keep you around the 20mph limit.
Simplified, higher voltage is higher speed, higher ah is greater range. From my reading about Amped, don't go above 48v20ah unless you don't mind risking it.

Use ping if you only need a very weak battery with no possibility of repairing it.
Otherwise see falconev

It's important to match the needs of your controller/motor with battery you use. Let's ignore the charge cycle since that can be done overnight. On the discharge side, look at the continuous current rating of the battery and match that with the current rating of your controller. They should be very close, and to be on the safe side, battery current delivery should exceed controller current needs. As long as you stay within the stated battery constraints you should be fine.

Two weeks ago, I bought a 48v 15ah LifePo4 version 2.5 from Ping, and so far I have no complaints whatsoever. I made this purchase based on forum members' comments, which I found useful because they were factual.
My setup: 72 volt system comprising of two batteris, the aformentioned 48 volt LifePo4 15ah + 24 volt LifePo4 12ah. Both have diodes to protect the bms from frying.
My experience: Yesterday I went to visit my sister, 27 kilometers away. There are lots of hills and it was super windy. Despite all that I was clocking 45/50 kmh on the flat and 30/35 on hills. The battery held its ground and delivered as promised.I used up 10ah and thankfully had an extra 5ah to go. Had I used my other battery, I would hav barely made the trip.
What I like about the battery: The battery is lighter than my other 48volt LifePo4 12ah, and ... get this, it's less pricy. I got it for $650 CDN with shipping from Ping. My other 48volt 12ah, cost $900 CDN from a different supplier.
IMO, Ping is very professional. If you send him a message, he'll respond within 24 hours on weekdays. I know, well because I did send him many messages and he has responded to every single one of them. He has helped me set up the diode and has answered all of my technical questions.
All the above is based on experience.
In conclusion
You can be assured that If anyone has had a bad experience with a battery supplier, they would mention it here.
As a consumer who uses forums to make wise purchases, I look for others' comments before I make a purchase of my own, and I will gladly praise a supplier's good services and equally comment on bad ones.
The internet has given good and honest suppliers a cheap but powreful mode of advertisment and by the same token will expose fraudulent ones.
I believe it's alright to vent in a forum, in fact I would call the act theraputic . But if it lacks factual account of one's experience then it will most likely go unnoticed by the readers.
My reply is very long, I'm sorry.. but I needed the therapy I just love my bike.
P.S. anyone know where I can get my hands on an immediate start 72 volt 30A or 40A controller?

low powered hub motors
I thought it was understood already, but, I guess not; the motor and controller will determine the demands required from the battery pack. My bigger Phantom motors demands exceed the capabilities of the ping pack. I normally use A123 cells or at least a 5C continuous rated cell. ping uses a 3C rated cell and, you get a FREE charger, oh boy !
My smaller, weaker motors will do fine with the ping pack.
I hope this clears things up. please dont confuse the facts with your personal experiences, we have to compare apples with apples.

No possibility of repairing it is a straight up lie. PITA to repair, OK, I'll give you that.
I make it a point to never trust a battery vendor's advice about another battery vendor.

I've placed my order. Thanks good looking
(Yes, I'm rich, but not wealthy. The former is the ability to make money, while the latter is you're born into money )

Yes, everybody go for ping, all other battery suppliers should just quit the business.
A123 must be crazy to compete with Ping.
GM chevy volt needs to call Ping
Tesla.. They need to call Ping
All ebikers need to call ping and nobody else.
Ping is THE greatest battery builder in the whole wide world.
It is a proven fact, cause..krusty and others, said so...
