Need an eZip Rear wheel
The bearing race on the hub of my ezip rear wheel cracked on the motor side of the hub. That's after 3,044 miles. Currie doesn't have any wheels in stock right now. There going to let me know when the next shipment will arrive. I have an extra hub from EVdeals but can't finf a 20 tooth LEFTY freewheel. They too are in short supply at Currie.
If anyone has a wheel they don't need, please PM me. I'd be happy to make a deal.

Well, while I wait for Currie, I have ordered some cartridge bearings that will fit in the Currie hub. People on Endless-sphere write of making the conversion loose ball and cone to cartridge. I'll post the outcome with the Currie (pretty cheap) hub.

Another hub bearing experience
I was test riding an Izip Trekking Enlightened on a level parking lot at a dealer in New England last week and the hub bearing race cracked. Seems like a weak spot. Dealer was peeved at Currie since it was the only one in stock, but not at me.

The woman on the phone from Currie's customer service ( who was quite capable and knowledgeable) said that the new rear wheel I'd get (when the ship came in) would be the NEW design. She didn't fault the present design just said the new design was better (pretty professional). I guess at 3,000 miles I can't fault mine too much, but I'd say the design was weak and invited failure, if the assembly didn't go well. It's a ton of separate parts pressed/welded together.
