Re:cannondale
I have a 93 Cannondale H300 hybrid. I would like to put a 1000 Watt rear wheel motor on it I'm not looking for speed but the hills here are nasty. Do you think the frame is strong enough? Thanks Ed

I've noticed the last 2 factory Jpbbies i've bought have a weight limit of 220, Thats for specially designed E-Bike frames..So I think it's reasonable to conclude under 200 lbs. would be best for a kit on that bike..having said that i bet you'd be fine, &you'll shed some weight if your like me & my experience with e-biking last 8 months dropped 18 lbs & kept it off. 50 year old man pretty good. I'm curious to see others opinions on this..

the Cannondale H300 has a 6061 T-6 aluminum frame. I would get a heavy steel frame. See the drop outs on the rear wheel area will not hold up to the power of the motor long.
But with big hills and lots of the you'll need a 1000 watt Hub motor

or a Mid drive system.

Now if you due have lots of hills the 450 watt Mid Drive will have a better range then the 1000 watt motor. And the 450 watt Mid Drive will have more power due to the gears on the bike being used.
