Any thoughts positive or negative about this E-bike?
I can get one for $375. I have not owned an electric bike, but do own an Izip, my lifepo4 batts when out on it, just fired it up for the first time in a year. And am now looking at getting something new. Does anyone have a link to that "trailer" you hook up to your bike that has an electric hub with a wheel, and a basket. I can describe better if you don't know what I'm talking about.

While the price of $375 for a $1500 list price bike is a good deal. But personally I would never buy a bike that is assist (motor) only. Not to mention the motor on that bike is smaller then on your Izip but it maybe a brushless motor that make some people give it a better rating. I guess it all depends on what your after but you could do a lot of improvement on th eIZip for $375.

You can build a 24V 20AH Thundersky LIFEPO4 pack that will slide into the rear rack of your Izip for slightly under $300 for everything--the cells, building material (Starboard marine plastic), wiring and a CellLog 8 (to monitor charging and discharging). Best of all you can get the Thundersky cells from a US distributor and not have to worry about high overseas shipping costs if you have a warranty issue develop. I bought my cells from Elite Power Solutions in Arizona. Ping stands behind his battery, but shipping to and from China is almost prohibitive these days. I built my first LIFEPO4 pack this spring and will be building my second pack later this month. (I have the Currie conversion kit installed on my 21-speed mountain bike and love it.)
