Question Bionix battery mount

I have had my bionix for 3 years now, and no issues. The only problem i have had is the high center of gravity on the bike. I ride on paths with the ocassional short but really sttep climbs. The high weight in the rear made the front wheel come of the ground while cranking the pedals. The bike alos feels tail heavy. Has anyone ever moved the batteries from the rear back, split the pack, and moved them someplace farther towards the front to balance out the load?

I believe they sell bags that fit into the frame triangle. That would give you a lower center of gravity. Also some use a bike rack over the front wheel or you could use a handlebar mounted basket.

Thanks.

I have a suspended front end so the front would not work. I am looking into the frame triangle bags. The soldering is not a biggie but i really need to balance the bike a little bit better

Posting photos are a little tricky. This is how I did it:

Click "Go Advanced".
Click "add files" in upper right corner.
Click "Select files".
Navigate to the photos in your computer and select (or highlight) photo.
Click "upload files".
Then drag the photo from "home" window down to the "attachments" window.
Click "insert inline(1)".
Click "done".

Maybe someone has an easier way but this worked for me.

That was easy using photo bucket. The batteries are on top of the rack in the back bag.

It's a small-ish triangle but it should work. You may have to find a new place to put the water bottle though.

ok, i see it now. You must have NiMh battery, am i correct? If it is, now I understand why you front wheel lift. You have a very small open frame, my suggestion is to take out your battery and measure the size of the battery, and review the following site, to see if the battery may fit into one of frame battery bag.

https://us.itselectric.ca/category_s/53.htm

Otherwise, you will have create your own custom bag to mount the battery in mid frame.

OOO they may work. yes the battery is heavy but i only notice it in fast turns and up EXTREEMLY steep hills. Luckily on the paths i have ridden they are really short.

Or even better, see if the battery will fit in this...it's a plastic mounting thing that goes in the triangle
https://us.itselectric.ca/product_p/batcase-bbx-3.htm

Also, if that is too small, I've heard that itselectric.ca has the bigger ones, too if you e-mail them.

That took forever to get.

The bag is a little bit too big to fit in the frame of my bike with the battery in it. I used a shoe horn and got it in. It took several tries to get the battery pack and controller. It will be interesting to see how all that stuff cramped into a really type space will handle heat of running.

The lower center of gravity makes the bike feel much better. My bike rack is the dalle kind with a top clamp. This will be next test. First to see if i can get this beast on the rack. I need to find out how much this all weighs. For the bike rack I used to remove the battery into the car.

I have a bionx with the battery mounted in the frame and even with that, I can feel the center of gravity being towards the back. So I wonder how people who rear mount their batteries feel when they ride. Your post answers that question. Glad you were able to get the battery in the triangle.
