Aseako/Gette/Rmartin R10/Catic

Hello,

I am looking at an Aseako (http://www.aseakoelectricbike.com.au/) ebike, which appears to be much the same as the Rmartin R10 or Gette, and I understand is made by Catic in China. Does anyone have one of these and would care to offer an opinion? The price seems quite reasonable and it is crank-drive which is my preference.

further to this, the same people seem to be making a slightly upmarket version with an internally geared hub and some better components (http://zocoelectricbike.com.au/index.html)

The IGH mentioned on that site is a NuVinci. I have one on my ebike. It is big and heavy and as robust as the Rock of Gibraltar. I love it. I've used a lot of IGHs on my various bikes and next to my Rohloffs the NuVinci is the best I've ever encountered. It has never given me the first issue. It's a wonderful hub.

Good to know! I did see one report saying it was difficult to change gears while the hub was under load eg. going up a hill. Did you have that problem Alleng?

Shifting any gearing system under load is difficult and hard on the system. Plan ahead and you will be fine.

Yep, shifting any IGH under load is more difficult than shifting while coasting. Break stride, shift, start pedaling again. It just a moment to get used to it.
