Pedego VS Prodeco

Hello folks, brand new to the forum today

Up here in this part of Canada we have 2 shops that sell a brand of non-Chinese ebikes, Pedego and Prodeco - I'm looking to purchase a city commuter style - the Pedego is approx. $1000.00 more than the Prodeco - is it worth the xtra cash?

Thanks in advance people.

non Chinese ebikes?
you must be kidding.
Definitely they have China brand parts on them /I mean no Western brands made in China/ like example PROMAX brake levers .
tHEY are just assembled in USA with a lot of China brands parts.
I can hear you everything is made in China.
But there is hudge difference between Western brand made in China and China brand, the last being quite often junk.

Which models of Pedego and Prodeco are you referring to?

You will have more fun posting this question over at https://endless-sphere.com/forums/

They will direct you to a BIONX kit and teach you how to build your own Ebike that is better then that overpriced chinabrand junk.

Yes I'm aware that everything is made in China these days - my fault, I should have said assembled/designed in USA - Pedego, from what little I know, seems to try and use only the 'best' Chinese parts and are designed in USA with good customer support. I was trying to find out if, both bikes being equal, in what they're offering, if Pedego is worth the xtra grand ........... I wouldn't mind paying it if I knew it was a superior bike in quality/service.

I had the opportunity to get my hands on a pedego this summer
https://ypedal.com/blog/Blog4-20130809.htm

It is a well designed bike, and at 48v the rear geared motors are peppy, it's a large frame so if you are tall... it's a comfortable ride. The prodeco brand is less expensive but there are lots of varying feedback and not always flattering..... if you care about support at all, stick with the pedego... if you are a diy grease monkey and don't mind fixing stuff yourself, you can save a few bucks... but the pedego is the better bike. ( rear rack welded to frame vs bolted on the prodeco that tends to break.. just one example )

Based on all my research on this forum and others, PEDEGO has THE best reputation. Prodeco claims their bikes are made in the U.S. which is b.s. The might put them together here but all the stuff they use is Chinese. If they lie about that, makes one wonder. The old saying...you get what you pay for applies. I can find many negative reviews about Prodeco, I can't find any about Pedego. Pedego has been around longer, too.
