What do you mean by "small"? What do you want to use it for?

Here is my "small" frame bag I use on my Surly Ogre, but in a size "medium". Depending upon the ride / weather, I use it to carry an extra bladder of water, gloves, snacks, wallet, phone, portable battery charger, extra tube, etc.

I'd moved my post to this section of the board:

I basically want something the size of that gray bag in the picture I posted in the above link. Something that can fit a battery pack with these dimensions: 6 x 2 x 1. Has to sit beneath the top tube (towards the front and not the back of the tube, so the battery wire can reach) and by "small", what I meant was that I don't want anything that looks like a 4th-graders backpack. No need to store keys, etc, just a battery.

Contact Greg at Bolder Bikepacking Gear. He'll pretty much make one custom for your bike and at no extra cost. It's pretty much the best way to go for bags like that that are dependent so much on frame geometry. I've got a number of his bags. They are first rate.

Thanks, J. Wouldn't mind going the custom route, but I really don't want to spend a fortune on a battery bag - $40 tops is what I was aiming for - and it seems as though there's a minimum $75 dollar order at BBG. I'll definitely consider it, though, but for the time being I think I'll hold off for a bit in hopes that I find something suitable. So for now I'm still open to suggestions if anyone has any.

I think if you are looking for a bag as in the link you posted, you will spend considerably more than $40. The bags you referenced were more than double that.

Anthony2 04-28-15 09:04 AM

Really? For a little, generic-looking bag like that? That's crazy. I mean I understand how niche products can cost a fortune, and I don't mind spending $100+ on a bag, but I just can't bring myself to do it in this case.

Did you look at the pricing on the bag in the link you posted? In black, it's $90.

The problem with bags like that is that they are different based on frame geometries. What are you intending to carry in it?

I didn't post a link. Are you talking about the links the other members posted in the other thread? If so, the prices are as followed for all the bags they recommended: $25, $33, $24, $55. Where exactly are you getting $90 from?

Edit: Oh, you're talking about the one westrid_dad posted? That was too big anyway - I didn't even bother checking the price on that.

To answer your question: I'd like it to carry a battery for my light. The dimensions for the light are 6 x 2 x 1.

Yes, sorry. My mistake.

No worries. Thanks, anyway.

What about something like this?

Timbuk2 Goody Box Frame Bag - Medium - REI.com

Anthony2 04-29-15 05:21 PM

Thanks, WD, but still a bit too big. Like I said in the other thread, I'm just going to go to an REI and pick out the smallest bag I can find. I appreciate everyone's help, though. Thanks again.
