I don't like external batteries and their cables either, and wouldn't consider any light that must use one full time. I consider the powerpack a backup, just in case as the internal battery is sufficient for my needs except for a few occasions. Besides, I do have a dyno light too.

Add the Edelux II DC which is a DC powered version of this populat dynamo light for use with battery power sources. I think it is 90 lux rating and has a great beam shape (not the same as 90 lumen). Available at Peter White Cycles... Busch & Mueller may be releasing a similar light next year as well.
