Cateye wireless Padrone Computer

It's a big, analogue version of the Strada.

Somewhat susceptible to interference from lights/hospitals/etc, but otherwise, it functions pretty much the same.

If I was going to buy another analogue computer, I'd make sure it was wired. I never had issues until my commute/rides took me past the First Aid/Fire station or a hospital.

This is my first wireless computer and I've heard that for the most part the issue of interference has been corrected. Curious on how your interference is manifested on the computer?

I've had mine for about 3,500 miles. The only problem I ever have is with the MAX SPEED. For some reason it will sometimes have a figure of around 60MPH...not very often. Everything else, perfection. Keeps perfect time also.

It's now been ~700-miles I've put on this computer and I seem to have the same problem; however, it happens more than I'd like, probably about once per week, but that's just a rough guess. Also today it seems like all my computer functions totally cleared (except the master odometer), as if I reset everything, but I didn't -- not sure what that was about.

Did the time clear also? About the only thing you could do is change the batteries; kind of funny but the instructions even state that the batteries that come with it are crap and won't last long. Could be a weak battery(s).

No, not the clock. It was as if I hit the reset button, but I didn't. That's the only time that happened, so for now I'll treat it as an aberration.

However, this periodic max speed thing happens far more frequently, it's most obvious when there's an extreme speed displayed on my Max Speed function, but there have also been times when I noticed a faulty speed reading in real time, mostly faster than what I'm going, but also a few times showing a slower speed and at least once a zero reading.

Some Bike Lights cause problems with Wireless Computers.

Also they can get electronic interference from outside sources.

I have Two Intersections the interfer with my wireless computer.

I accidently reset mine sometimes when I lean forward while standing and waiting for a traffic light to change, etc. I wish they would have made it harder to reset it. I've never noticed any problems with the speed in real time.

Like 10 Wheels said, people have problem with lights and computers. Some combinations are terrible.

I really like mine, the display size is great and I like the simplicity of use. I too occasionally reset my trip by accidentally pressing on it, but purchased the Cateye out front mount and haven't had that problem since.

I have 2 of them, I'd rate them as only fair. They zonk out occasionally, ie MPH becomes fixed for a few minutes at a time and every once in a while they'll clear themselves back to zero in the middle of a ride, it's annoying af. When the batteries go down on both of them I'm gonna replace them with wired models.

Could someone explain what "analogue" means in this context and how this differs from the Strada? I wouldn't mind a larger display but don't want to go with something prone to problems. Thanks

This is a fairly concise explanation of the differences between analogue/digital radio.

The basic break down is that digital transmission is less prone to interference than analogue, and dropped portions of the transmission aren't as bad as with analogue.
