Bluetooth Earbuds without Wind Noise?
 

Okay, I know. I shouldn't use earbuds on the bike at all. But I do.

I have found Bluetooth earbuds / earphones that pair well with my iPhone and that produce good sound when standing still, but wind noise is a consistent problem when riding the bike. The last set I tried (JBL brand) created so much wind noise that, even on a calm day, I wondered if I would suffer hearing loss by wearing them on a regular basis -- not from the music, but from the roar of the wind.

Can anyone recommend a good-sounding, easy-to-use Bluetooth earbud / earphone that doesn't generate a lot of wind noise?

I use bluetooth headphones, and I have the same problem. I've thought of making a fairing to go around my ears, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Cat Ears work if you can deal with the look. I use in-ear headphones while riding and they do a pretty good job of blocking wind noise. They are the style of earphones that fit snugly in the ear to act like an earplug.

Jaybird headphones are the in-ear style, and the only ones that worked for me (well I tried 2 kinds and the other one didn't work).

Yeah, that's the thing with headphones for a bike - they have to be the sealing kind of you'll have awful wind noise problems.

If you don't want to seal both ears you can always just use them in one ear, leaving one ear free.

I found that closed buds (ones that seal in the ear) are the best for this. If I used open, there was so much wind noise that I had to crank the volume to max and probably damage my hearing to hear what was going on. With in-ears, very little wind noise, I can keep the volume down.

Of course, I only wear one at a time.

You may also want to look on Amazon for "Slipstreamz" products. they have a little thing that clips onto the helmet strap and directs wind around your ear.
