Bontrager ION ANT+ Remote Control

Anyone using Bontrager ION lights with ANT+ remote control?

Work as advertised? Durable? Run time? Beam pattern?

I'll be using it fork mounted on a gravel bike and so it will likely see rougher than normal service.

Any feedback from those who own this light would be appreciated.

I'm using a Bontrager Ion 800 R light on my hybrid (handle bar). It's a great and very powerful light. So far when I ride at night with other people, their lights don't come close in comparison. On high- 800 lumens and is super bright and very impressive (1.5 hrs). On medium- 450 lumens and is very good (3 hrs). On low- 200 lumens okay and is as bright as most of the other riders. It's kinda pricey though- $100.00 but I think it's worth every penny and don't regret spending the money. It definitely lights up more area than any other light I've seen (so far).

Thanks Tommy. Do you use the remote control?

No I don't. Didn't really know it came with one. I'm totally impressed with this light though. I do know that the housing runs kinda hot if you use it on high for a length of time. I've been told that other high powered lights run hot too when using on high. It's not bad on medium or low. All high powered lights use a USB charging system that I'm aware of...no regular batteries. It does have a Cree bulb.

Great lights. I am using a 350rt on the front and a flare rt on the back of my helmet. I also have a flare rt on the seatpost. The remote is used to change the lights from high to low, depending on traffic and I can shut everything down with one button. The front lights also have trail mode high and low. You can defeat all the modes and only use high and low.

I'm using the Bontrager Flare R tail light and it's fantastic too. However, when riding at night with other people, I have to be careful which power I'm using. High blinds everyone behind me really really bad. I've had greats comments from people about these lights telling me how impressed they were and wanted to know what they were.

Thanks guys.

I'm asking because I want to mount two on my fork as in the picture. Two lights plus remote is not an insignificant expense.
