Quad lock doesn't list the galaxy Note as a compatible device. Any idea if the Note 4 fits?

I've used mounts like some of those Walmart mounts. One of them held my digital camera. The mount was made of an insufficiently strong plastic. On a bumpy road, it broke and tossed my camera on the ground, destroying it (the camera, not the ground). The break was at the hinge of the part that gripped the handlebar.

I absolutely would NOT trust a $1000 phone to a silicone elastic band!!!
I use a Delta SmartPhone Caddy: https://deltacycle.com/image/cache/c...ke-600x600.jpg It's rugged and bulletproof and has performed without fail or issue for 4 years and about 4000km of bumpy roads and trails so far. The bungee cords on the sides are really just for convenience when mounting the phone to get the top and bottom cups tight - it has a friction cam-lock in the back that actually secures the phone so it can't vibrate loose and jump out. Comes with both handlebar mounts for various size bars, and a stem cap mount, which is what I use. Cheers TRJB I used the handlebar clamp mount since bike bike have quill rather than threadless stems, although I needed both rubber grippy spacers for a secure fit -- the plastic clamp by itself is quite a bit wider than my 25.4mm bars. So far it's held securely on some bumpy roads and when the wind blew my bike over last week. I didn't need any of the included pads or spacers -- the protective bumper case I already had fits' well enough inside the Delta mount. The Delta mount doesn't block anything on the screen or edges, so everything is accessible without removing the phone. I could also use the charger cord and a USB battery to run longer if needed (I usually keep a USB battery and other accessories in a small handlebar bag). A ball type or articulating joint to pivot when mounted on the handlebar, quill stem or top tube would be handy, but for a couplafew bucks I'm not gonna complain. I like it well enough I'll probably order another for my second bike, if Amazon has any cheap new/old stock mounts left. |
I'm using a Mengo Lumi from Amazon, it's fine so far and fits my note 4 with its case fine.
