"Bontrager light remote" quarter turn adapter
5 Attachment(s)
I wanted the Bontrager Ant+ lighting remote to be as removable as the corresponding lights. The Garmin "Quarter Turn" mount is a very clean attachment. I adapted the SRAM "male" adapter plate to mate with the back of the Bontrager remote. The altered remote can be mounted on any Garmin mount and moved to other bike without tools.

That's a really nice adaptation!
I'm on the edge about the ION lights and might go for one (or 3). How is the run time for you. -Tim- |
Looks good!
Did you split the quarter-turn mount to reduce the stack height? |
Split the SRAM quarter turn adapter and sanded it flat. Epoxied a piece of 1/16" fiber reinforced board to the back to prevent potential pull through of the screws.
The final point of this exercise is to be able to move the remotes from Bike to bike without tools. In regards to the ion lights; my run times have been what the manufacturer times have advertised. Being able to control all of the lights from the handlebars has been a great feature. One button On/Off and High beam/Low beam. Group rides and oncoming traffic situations are accommodated with different modes. I can cut the High Beam to low when traffic requires. |
