Cateye padrone smart..

The cateye padrone doesn't wake up when the wheels start turning and that's fine. I wake it manually by pushing and holding the front down for a couple of seconds.. Sometimes it connects almost immediately to the speed and cadence sensor and sometimes it takes several minutes. Is there a trick to this or is that just the way it is?

Thanks in advance for the help

I have that bike computer. In the setup , make sure you have auto pause enabled...that should (with Cateye one never knows) start the computer when you start rolling.

With regard to connecting to sensors, lots of different factors I've found...with me one of them involves the sensors of another bike with which I use the Padrone.

Do you use your phone to connect? That sometimes creates a lag. The phone is essential if you want to export the ride data, but if all you want is on the fly info, try going direct connect. That's usually the most accurate and doesn't have BT "hiccups."

Thanks....

The Padrone works well and does what it needs to do, cadence, speed time etc...I had little luck making it work with the phone and that's fine I guess. I use Strava on the phone and upload from there.

(STRAVA Trick, when I installed the Padrone I noticed a significant difference in the avg MPH between the Padrone and Strava . I reached out to Strava and they told me to turn off auto pause on the Strava Ap . I did that and now after data is uploaded the Padrone and Strava agree)

My question about the Padrone , better stated, is before a ride and when the Padrone wakes up it doesn't always find the sensors right away. About half the time it will after I hold it down to rest the trip info. Once it finds the sensors all is well for the duration. In the big scheme its minor just wondered if there was a better way to get it going..
