Anyone using an ipod classic and a speaker?
I have tons of music on my old ipod classic which does NOT support bluetooth. Looking for a decent speaker for the bike for some background music. I wonder if I should get a bluetooth speaker and bluetooth adapter for the ipod or just a speaker that connects via cable to the headphone jack. Later seems to be the cheaper solution.
Anyone using an old fashioned ipod classic with a speaker and if yes which setup? And no I don't want to use headphones since I like to hear the traffic around me. Thanks |
bluetooth adapters exist.

Thanks Here's one without the cable at Crater lake going Bluetooth. I normally loop the cable around the frame to keep it out of the way. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7d65d39b4c.jpg |
I use a combination of FM radio, SD card player, and speaker, bluetooth+AUX, that mounts with a tripod bolt onto handlebars. There are many options on Amazon and they are of decent quality, waterproof and inexpensive. My specific models are out of stock, but they are all pretty similar, differing in details of the housing and add-ons like horn or light. A couple of examples are below:

I use a JBL FLIP 4 and CHARGE 3+ with a couple of Sony mp3 players mostly for radio, they fit in water bottle cages, wife hates them, most others give :thumb:

Are you sure that is a JBL Charge 3 and not the original Charge (1). The Charge 2 and beyond are larger than a bottle cage and don't fit.

Excellent. I recently bought another 1 off ebay to replace my old 1 as they fit so well, but now can consider later model with this loony bin.

I found a "roadkill" Motorola Moto-Z speaker. A bit banged up.
And, now picked up a Moto-Z cell phone. I haven't tried mating the two together, but that might be something worth considering. https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Spea.../dp/B07D939HL9 https://www.motorola.com/us/products...dboost-speaker Just snap the speaker to the back of your phone. https://www.lenovo.com/medias/lenovo...GI5NTNjYjlmZWY I'll try mine out shortly, hopefully. |
I would just use a powered speaker like the Charge and hard wire it to your non BT device. Get an extra cable so you can permanently mount it to your frame.

I wouldn't bolt spinning rust directly onto the bike.
But I also wouldn't be the guy who inflicts his music on others. |
