Another Bolt question
Is there a way to set a starting elevation point, or to add other elevation points where the reading is corrected? My Garmin Edge had like 10 elevation points that could be stored, and the reading would adjust when coming near them. Surprised this unit doesn't seem to have this feature? I've been off well over 100' at the start, and there doesn't seem to be any way to correct it.
Also, the screen contrast isn't great. The only way I've been able to slightly help this is to have the backlight on. Anything other than bright sunlight the screen is a bit dark. I don't suppose there's a way to fix that other than keep the backlight on? Speaking of which, is there any way to adjust backlight brightness? |
I've not figured out what altitude data is GPS generated by the Bolt, (if any), and what comes from the internal barometric pressure sensor. Plus I generally have the Wahoo app running on a phone with GPS to wonder about too. But I also notice there is error. Could Wahoo push a future software fix to automatically adjust for barometric pressure error based on starting point GPS coordinates? That would be cool.
Regarding backlight, how long can the Bolt run with it on? I prefer my display backlit too, and was concerned that might quickly run the battery down. But I've discovered it would be pretty hard for me to break the bank, so I just leave mine set to ON. Rode five hours+ yesterday backlit, battery charge at the end indicated 59%. (Bolt was paired to the phone for live tracking too if that matters). |
