Where to Purchase B & M Ixon Core Headlight in USA
I can't direct my Niteriders downward anymore without being hazardous, but I also don't want to offend others.
I've examined the L & M Urbans, but the wonderful amber sidelights will be rendered useless due to the hoods on my drop bars, and the actual handlebar tubes on my 2" riser bars.... So, I've decided on the B & M Ixon Core USB model. Problem is, where does one purchase this thing. There are a few retailers out there with bad reviews.
Please help! Thanks in advance!

I believe Peter White Cycles, a wholesaler and badly reviewed retailer, sells to Harris Cyclery, a well-liked retailer. If there is a B&M light not on the Harris web site, they may be able to get it for you.
I've bought several B&M lights from xxcycle.com in France. I know that's not in the USA, and I do understand your reason for preferring a local vendor, but I will say that I've been happy with every purchase from that vendor, and their selection of B&M lights is huge. I've bought the Ixon Core from them, and I even rode to work with it today. It's a very nice light, though I don't think the rubber band clamp is the greatest. I see you can use a clamp on mount, and it looks much better.

Tom, looks like Harris Cyclery is sold out of those at the moment. The Ixon premium looks like a nice light. That said if you can't find one I would highly recommend the Raveman CR-900. The CR-900 has a digital read out for run time and on the medium mode provides about 3hrs of run time. Beam pattern is wonderful. As I see it the biggest difference between the two are that the Ixon allows you to replace your own batteries. That is a super big plus. Also supposedly the IXON Premium cutoff pattern is suppose to provide most of the light in the distance and then fade more toward the bike. I don't own one of those so I can't comment on it. The CR-900 has a very nice cutoff beam pattern that is pretty much spread evenly front to back. Right now it is my go to road light and with the included remote, I love it. Raveman CR-900 is using a 3100mAh Li-ion cell. Sadly you can't replace it yourself, it's one fault. These sell though at about $75. Great price for a great light.

Thanks for the info about the retailers. Indeed. I swapped out all my unsightly and potentially deteriorating rubber bands for ridiculously priced clamp-ons for my current Niteriders...

I have bought several lights from German sellers on the internet. Someone mentioned Rose above, I have bought from Star and from Bike24. Shipping is expensive for the first item, but if you are getting lots of stuff or expensive items they are quite affordable.

Peter white has the north american wholesale and will take your money to ship retail, but many local shops have an account with him,
to sell retail and cover the shipping, in the markup.
Peter sells direct, at SRP + shipping.. Harris will add shipping if you dont walk in the shop, to get it.
I got my local shop to set up an account.. with his company.. for the walk in no shipping price.
Peters site list's other dealers that have invested in sufficient stocking quantities ..
you might have such a shop in SoCal/ LA, etc.

The only place I can find that "seems" to have it in stock is rose cycles in the uk (which will ship to the us, but obviously there's some drawbacks in doing that):
https://www.rosebikes.com/article/b-...ht/aid:2669801
I've ordered from Amazon Uk before but while they list it it's not available through them either:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headlight-B.../dp/B01LCMBVDY
But hey, if I was throwing money at a light right now with a shaped beam, have you read about the Lupine SL7?
SL A 7 road-ready Bike Light
Twice as much light for 4 times as much money. It does seem like a better light though, with a smoother less artifact-ridden beam and likely a better LED. Oh I think think it has both a "cutoff" mode and a "high beam" (no cutoff) mode.
A previous thread speculating about the differences between them:
B&M Ixon Space - cutoff, built in lith-ion battery, 150 lux (not lumens)

If you liked the Light & Motion Urban lights and want a hood to shield the eyes of oncoming cyclists and pedestrians, the L&M Urbans are easy to fit with a homemade hood. I made one from a plastic pill bottle.
Look for a translucent white pill bottle made from soft, tough HDPE (it'll be marked on the bottom). These are easy to cut with a craft knife and scissors. Trim the collar or neck of the bottle, cutting off the threaded portion. Trim carefully until it snaps snugly into the recessed area just behind the lens on the barrel of the L&M Urban light.
Then cut off the base, and trim half the length of the bottle. I put black tape over the upper half to shield my eyes to retain dark adaptation at night.
This actually enhances the side visibility better than the L&M Urban's amber side ports (they aren't actually separate LEDs, just amber colored ports for the one white LED). It retains a strong central beam, wide side beam, and can easily be tilted as needed during a ride.
Since using it on my L&M Urban 500 I've used it many times in my neighborhood where lots of folks walk and jog at night, and on the MUP and in group rides. It works really well at minimizing spill, and confines the beam to where it's needed.
Cost nothing. I think I used the leftover bottle from a batch of generic Zyrtec antihistamines. Took about 15 minutes to make.

That's right!
Maybe some people prefer to calculate in GBP instead of EUR ?

Put a little effort in and follow the link I conveniently provided which shows "Currently unavailable."
I'm willing to suggest the OP go from spending $100 to spending $400 on a light. I'm not quite willing to suggest that they sell their bike and buy an ebike with built in battery just for a light system though...

You'd link the B&M Ixon Space, which is a brand new model and available in germany maybe after eurobike this year - maybe even later. Not for sale yet.
The Supernova M99 Pro don't need an ebike. It accepts every DC 12-60V power source with enough current.
