Thousands of things, but nothing where I had to float the money needed to manufacture it.

I have it clipped on to my seat bag so angle isn't adjustable. It is currently very close to level; I'd guess within a couple of degrees.

Bag attached lights never seem to be pointing back correctly, often drooping toward the ground. The lights look really dim. Maybe your seat bag is stiffer and the clip mount works better than the ones I've seen on group rides.

My Pro 150 is on a seatpost mount, and I have it pointed down a few degrees so that part of the beam lights up the road behind me. (And perhaps it's a little less annoying to drivers or other cyclists that are close by.) They do supply seatstay mounts, but some seatstays are odd shapes and might not work.

I'm wondering how these omnidirectional tail lights perform at long distances away, especially during the day. Their light isn't as concentrated into a beam.

And a "300 lumen" light won't look twice as bright as a "150 lumen". Eyes don't see the increase in brightness as a linear amount. My 2000 lumen headlight doesn't look twice as bright as it's 1000 lumen half-power setting.

Please don't do any of the above. Have some consideration for your fellow cyclists.

What really works is something that sticks out horizontally that scares drivers, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/M-Wave-LED-Fl.../dp/B01M2CPYYR.

The vast majority of drivers see the horizontal flag and move over to give you a really wide lane, even though the flag won't damage their cars..

ETA: Alas, the item I linked to is apparently a loser. I bought a different one a couple of years ago, but the flag itself fell off on a ride, and the mount was flimsy anyway. Nevertheless, it's worth searching for a horizontal flag. I used one 30 years ago for several years, and I used one for a fe wmonths a coupld of years ago, and drivers gave the flags incredible amounts of respect,

I guess you could do that if you don't mind the dork factor. There's also the rear light with bar-end rear lights or lasers.

I can see how the bar ends lights might work but I've never been a fan of the rear laser projectors. To me it just doesn't make sense. Do I want someone driving to see some goofy red lines on the road or do I want them to see me(?)...Being as pragmatic as I sometimes can be I can't help but think that something that is only visual several feet from my bike really isn't going to help me that much. I want the drivers of motor vehicles to see, "ME", the sooner the better. The laser stuff is just a gimmick. Now if I actually see someone using one of these in person and see that it might actually help then I'll change my opinion. Otherwise I'm going with what my gut is telling me ( namely that the laser stuff is useless BS ).

Okay, after reading this post I have to call you out. Multiple people here are using the Cygolite Hotshot 150 ( including myself ) and everyone of them ( including me ) thinks it does an outstanding job. As for your comment about seeing commuters with brighter lights, I'm calling this BS too. I see people riding at night all the time and very few ( if any ) do I see using a rear lamp that is anywhere near as bright as mine. There are brighter lights but some of those have a more diffused light pattern. For day riding you want something designed to alert drivers from a good distance. To do that you need a more intensely focused beam pattern ( IMO ). You might check out a DiNotte Quad Red although I have no idea how focused the optics are. At about 200 lumen they are indeed very expensive though. Otherwise lamps like the HShot 150: Serfas TST-150, Bontrager Flare R, the Niterider Sentinel 150, Performance Axiom Pulse 60 ( a Serfas clone ) these lamps have good rep. for being able to be seen well during the day. You might also check out some of the newer rear lamps from Lezyne. Some of those look real interesting ( Zecto Drive Max...rated at 250 lumen ) check out the Youtube vid on the
.

Of course with all this said if you really think the Hotshot 150 sucks I doubt if any of the lamps I mentioned will satisfy you.

+1. Three types of status:

a) In stock and will ship when ordered (or shortly thereafter)
b) Out of stock, will ship when restocked
c) Not yet produced, available for pre-order for shipping once production commences.
