Nightprovision lights
 

I'm looking to buy some rear bike lights and I found Nightprovision brand on Amazon. Does anybody know if this brand is any good?

It looks to be a branded Chinese made light with a lot of other ones with similar designs. It looks exactly the same as the older design for Blitzu Cyborg 120T.

It's not a bad light. The 500 mAh lithium polymer battery is the same as you find in a lot of inexpensive 100 lumen chip-on-board lights. There is really not much difference between 100 and 120 lumens. You get a longer run time for the 100 lumen light. If you are willing to use an overseas vendor you can get a 100 lumen tail light made by Raypal, the same company who made my Blitzu headlight but spend less than $5. What is interesting from this company is the Night Provision BX 550 headlight. It is rare to find a bike headlight that uses a standard 18650 Li-ion battery and allows you to switch it out. It means you can carry a spare battery that doesn't weigh much or take up much space. The downside is the price. Looks remarkably like the 320 lumen Blitzu Gator 320. It uses a different LED so is brighter. However, you can buy a CREE XML-T6 flashlight and handlebar mount for under $10 and get a light that is even brighter (~900 to 1000 lumens) and still works on 18650 batteries. Not USB rechargeable but removing the battery and charging it in a separate charger is easy. The advantage of any light that has a removable 18650 battery is that you can use the best battery in it and get a longer run time. I use 3400 mAh Panasonic/NCR 18650b batteries that cost $13 a pair. The Night Provision comes with a 2400 mAh battery but no brand listed.
