Wiring B&M IQ-X without a rear light

Hello! I am attempting to install a brand new IQ-X however I've found the instructions a bit lacking (or maybe just my competency with wiring) and after hours (literally) of searching the internet, have not found the answer to my question. Per the B&M instructions, if no rear light is connected, then the two wires not going to the dynamo hub must be "isolated". How do I do this? I will not be running a rear light and thus am attempting to figure out how best to follow these instructions.

Cap them with shrink wrap if you'll never use them, or cap them with spades that are covered in shrink wrap if you may want to in the future.

Correct answer on the first try ^^. Or, if you are sure that you will never be tempted to try a tail light, just snip them off with a diagonal cutter, But, heat shrink tubing, with or without the spades, is a more elegant solution, and who doesn't like elegance?

Oh it's that easy? Hm. I've seen people talking about "earthing"/"grounding" to the mounting bolt, etc - "isolating" just means covering and sealing?

I wouldn't do anything about them, I can't see how they would touch anything.

Although rear dyno lights are a really good idea, especially if you ride in the cold

Aye, even if you have a weird bicycle situation, you can probably mount a light to the bike somewhere. BuMM make a saddle-rail clip, for instance, and since Topeak/Todson make a reflector-to-80mm mount, you can fit a TopLight Line Plus pretty much anywhere on a bicycle. It is a monster of a taillight...and doesn't weigh much on account of only having a plastic housing and small capacitor.

I was less happy with my Secula, which I find less visible.

I used electrcal tape over them. Although I planned to never install a dyno powered taillight, later I changed my mind so I was happy that I did not snip them off.

I have a different light than you, but in my case I just bundled them up under the mount out of the way. I think I used a wire twisty to hold the wires in place.

eDelux , I would just not plug the wire in . + out, the return - is to the mounting bolt/case .

[But I do run the Tail light , a Topmount . on the rack]..
