Good GoPro mounts?
Well, I apparently ride too hard. Or maybe just too fast on bad roads ... but I destroyed the mount for my (daughter's) GoPro Hero Session. I had noticed a crack on an arm on each side of the mount, but didn't think much of it. Today, another one of the arms cracked, and the Session fell out and went rolling down the hill. I think it still works, although the housing is a bit worse for wear.
So I don't think I want to replace it with just a stock mount. I mean, I rode with it fewer than ten times. No trails or anything, just typical Southern California roads. I don't use it that often, but every once in a while I like to record a ride. Any suggestions for a replacement mount? I'd like the stick with a handlebar mount, as my head is constantly swiveling in the city. Thanks, folks. |

Get anything aluminum. Seriously, that plastic most mounts are made out of is brittle AF junk. The fact that GoPro forces retailers to charge a premium for their brand stuff is just a kick in the nads while you're down. The caveat mentioned above is BarFly stuff. I've found from personal use the composite they use is very durable. I've found pants-loads of great stuff on the "big A" site.

Great advice folks, many thanks. I'll let you know what I end up with.

K-edge are great. I got a mount that has a garmin on top and go pro on the bottom. Been a great mount.

I have the Bar Fly pictured above and I’m happy with it. It comes with a bunch of different inserts for different brand computers. Also available in aluminium. The only negative is that it looks like the reinforcement webbing might fill up with water and not drain. Haven’t used it in the rain yet so don’t know if it’s a problem in reality. Unrelated but on topic - I’m always on the lookout for low profile GoPro mounts to fit a 22.2mm bar. |
Though it requires using their phone case, I have been using the Quad Lock system for a couple years now. Mostly road riding, but I have been on a few trails with it with no problems. https://www.quadlockcase.com/product...ut-front-mount |
Did you mean "LOSE the chance?" Because when things come loose, you lose them. :wtf:

I use Ram mounts for all my important gear from Iphone to GPS to camera and I've never had a failure. This includes ATVs, dirtbikes, and MTBs.
