Smartphone app

Hi,

Do you use your smartphone as bike computer?
Which app do you use?

Thank you.

I use Runtastic Road Bike Pro ($4,99) and pair with SungDing BlueTooth cadence/speed sensor ($14 on Amazon).

I use Ride with GPS just to see where I went.

A while back I tried oruxmaps. But only half-heartedly as I have an edge 500 that I've used for many years. It does a lot. Not just cycling. However it was a little more work to use than my 500.

Started with MapMyRide, switched to Strava.

Hi,

To bobwysiwyg
With Strava, can you see data in real time while we are biking? (speed, distance, heart rate with Garmin chedt strap, etc)
Do you have capture of the screen while biking?

To hcgaloi
Same questions.

Thank you

Yes, Strava will display continuously provided you set your phone display to not shut off. However, keeping the screen on in conjunction with GPS location, you'll go through your battery pretty quickly.

Is it possible to use the data from the Bluetooth sensors on my bike?

Also, I have a Garmin 920xt.
Would it possible to send the data from my watch to my phone and monitor the data in real time?

Just a matter of pairing them. I use a different HR monitor, and Wahoo cadence, speed, etc. For visual check along the way, I use Cateye computers. I prefer the Strada for the larger number display but it doesn't include cadence which is ok with me.

Runstastic Road Bike Pro displays metrics and map in real time, and you can also view historical data after rides. An added feature is you can set voice announcement per time , distance, cadence intervals while riding.

I use ridewithgps. I usually connect an external battery so my usage won't drain the battery, and the result is often that my phone is more charged at the end of a ride than when it started. On long rides, I set the phone to keep the display on. I use a Quad Lock mount to mount my phone to the handlebar.
